Ji Yue 01 granted to offer U-shaped steering wheels

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On November 20, Ji Yue, the automotive robot (Robocar) brand jointly backed by Geely and Baidu, officially announced enhanced benefits for the Ji Yue 01, allowing users who have locked in their orders within the year, including those who have received their vehicles, to replace their steering wheels with U-shaped designs at no additional cost.

Importantly, this upgrade won't affect the original delivery schedule. Customers can stick to their planned delivery dates, with the upgrade scheduled post-delivery, commencing in January 2024.

The previously showcased U-shaped steering wheel enhancement plan for the Ji Yue 01 recently gained approval in a catalog issued by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The steering wheel alongside the 35.6-inch display are now permitted for incorporation into production vehicles as an optional feature.

According to Ji Yue, the U-shaped steering wheel offers drivers precise and effortless steering while significantly enhancing screen visibility during driving. Additionally, the Ji Yue 01 eliminates many physical operations such as gear shifting through a center console screen slide, removing physical shift levers, paddles, center console buttons, and door handles across the vehicle.

The Ji Yue 01, which hit the market on October 27 this year, comes with two variants, namely the Ji Yue 01 Max and the Ji Yue 01 Max Performance, priced between 249,900 yuan and 339,900 yuan.
