NETA Auto completes assembly of first right-hand-drive EV in Thailand

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On November 30, NETA Auto (Thailand) Co., Ltd., in collaboration with its partner Bangchan General Assembly Co., Ltd. ("BGAC"), announced the assembly of its first right-hand-drive electric vehicles in Thailand, the NETA V-II, has been completed in the country with the significant vehicle rolling off the production line.

Mr. Zhang Yong, Co-founder and CEO of NETA Auto, expressed, "Today's launch of the first NETA V-II from our Thai facility is a significant stride in our global strategy. This move enables us to manufacture and deliver more electric vehicles with modern, innovative technology, meeting the growing demand in Thailand and the ASEAN region."

Situated in the Khan Na Yao district of Bangkok, the NETA Auto Thailand factory represents the brand's inaugural overseas facility and the first Thai plant for China's new energy vehicle startups. Functioning as a production hub for right-hand-drive electric vehicles in the ASEAN market, this facility is set to fortify NETA Auto's overall production capacity, providing robust support for the brand's global sales growth.

Thailand holds a pivotal position in NETA Auto's presence in the ASEAN region. At the 40th Thailand International Motor Expo, NETA Auto showcased its NETA GT Speeder and its first global-oriented model, the NETA X.

Since initiating its overseas business expansion in 2022, NETA Auto has gained momentum in its global development strategy of "deepening in ASEAN and entering the EU".

Remarkably, within just over a year, NETA Auto has captured nearly 20% of the local pure electric vehicle market share in Thailand, said the company. Presently, the brand boasts over 40 dealerships and stores across the country.

Expanding from Southeast Asia to Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and South America, NETA Auto's global footprint is rapidly advancing. With seven products planned for overseas markets, the brand aims to enter over 50 countries and regions by 2024, targeting annual sales of 100,000 units outside of China.
