XPENG announces foray into China’s Hong Kong, Macao markets

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On April 10, Chinese new energy vehicle manufacturer XPENG announced its official entry into the Hong Kong market. XPENG has partnered with Sime Darby Motors and appointed the latter as its official agent for new car sales and aftersales services in Hong Kong.

Key XPENG models are expected to meet Hong Kong consumers in mid-May, with deliveries slated to begin in the third quarter of this year.

Tommy Wong, Managing Director of Sime Darby Motors in Hong Kong and Macau, further revealed plans to establish XPENG flagship stores in the third quarter of 2024, introducing the latest all-electric SUV, the XPENG G6, and the intelligent seven-seater, the XPENG X9, to provide comprehensive sales and aftersales services for Hong Kong customers.

This collaboration between XPENG and Sime Darby Motors entails a series of strategic initiatives to shape XPENG's market positioning in Hong Kong.

XPENG emphasized that Hong Kong, as a hub of Asian economics, plays a pivotal role in its global expansion strategy. The company aims to enhance product localization to offer future-oriented mobility solutions to Hong Kong and global customers.

Simultaneously, XPENG announced its plans for the Macao market, collaborating with Xin Kang Heng Holdings Limited to introduce models such as the XPENG G9, X9, G6, and P7i to consumers. Deliveries of left-hand drive XPENG vehicles are expected to commence in May this year.
