The newly registered company will concentrate its efforts in Changsha city and broaden its impact throughout Hunan province, said GAC Group. Over the next three years, the company plans to build 300 electric vehicle charging stations and develop an integrated energy supply network that includes solar power, energy storage, charging, and battery swapping facilities. This network will be supported by ongoing technological research and development. Furthermore, the company is set to establish a digital platform to explore innovative business models, such as energy trading and green energy utilization, and to develop a smart energy ecosystem centered on Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technologies.

In recent years, spurred by a new wave of technological revolutions and the China’s dual-carbon strategy, the ownership of new energy vehicles has been on the rise. Many local governments have drafted plans and set standards for the construction of local electric vehicle charging and battery swapping infrastructure. As part of this movement, the Development and Reform Commission of Changsha City has released the "Implementation Plan for Accelerating the Construction of Charging Infrastructure to Promote the Consumption of New Energy Vehicles (2023-2025)." This plan aims to install at least 163,000 units of charging facilities in the city by 2025, including no fewer than 38,000 public charging points, thereby advancing the construction of public charging infrastructure and optimizing its development mechanisms.
