NETA Auto begins local volume production at car manufacturing factory in Indonesia

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On May 31, PT NETA Auto, a joint venture between Indonesia's PT Handal Indonesia Motor and China's NETA Auto, officially commenced localized production in CKD form at the PT Handal Indonesia Motor (HIM) factory located in Bekasi, West Java, marking the formal start of NETA Auto's localized mass production in Indonesia, according to a post on NETA Auto's WeChat account.

The factory carried out the preliminary assembly of NETA Auto's latest model, the NETA V-II. This move signifies NETA Auto's active expansion of its global production capacity and could significantly enhance the supply capability of the NETA V-II model in the Indonesian market.

Furthermore, the NETA V-II not only achieves localized production in Indonesia but also incorporates environmentally friendly lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries from PT Gotion Green Energy Solutions, an Indonesian company. This results in a Domestic Component Level/Tingkat Komponen Dalam Negeri (TKDN) of 44%.

Previously, on July 26, 2023, NETA Auto signed a memorandum of understanding with Indonesian partner PT Handal Indonesia Motor, where both parties committed to working together to achieve localized production of NETA Auto's  automobile products.

In March of this year, NETA Auto announced that the first batch of production equipment for its Indonesian factory was put in place on March 6, bringing it closer to achieving the goal of localized production in the country.
