DiDi Autonomous Driving secures 2 billion yuan in Series D funding

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On October 11, DiDi Autonomous Driving announced the completion of its Series D funding round, raising a total of 2 billion yuan.

The round drew participation from a range of strategic and institutional investors, including the Zhongguancun Science City Science and Technology Growth Investment Guidance Fund, Beijing Information Industry Development Investment Fund, Beijing Artificial Intelligence Industry Investment Fund, GAC Group, Guangzhou Guanghua Fund, and DiDi itself.

Proceeds from the funding will be used to expand research and development in artificial intelligence, accelerate the deployment of Level 4 autonomous driving technologies, and promote high-quality development across China's transportation sector.

Zhang Bo, Co-founder of DiDi and CEO of DiDi Autonomous Driving, said that Level 4 autonomous driving represents one of the most significant technological shifts of the coming AI decade, poised to greatly enhance the safety, efficiency, and overall experience of mobility.

He added that the company has built nearly a decade of expertise across AI, mass production, and operations, and will continue to pursue responsible innovation while exploring new employment opportunities. DiDi Autonomous Driving aims to advance autonomous technology in a measured and sustainable way, contributing to the broader development of China's intelligent and connected vehicle industry.
