VW's Chinese import sales exceed 30000 in first half of 2011

Volkswagen sold 30,737 imported vehicles in the Chinese mainland from January to June of this year, the Beijing Morning Post reported today. The figure is 52 percent higher than the first half of 2010, much higher than the average growth in China's imported car market. "Volkswagen already has 70 dealers in its imported vehicle network," said Shen Xiaojie, VW's CEO of import sales.

Chinese vehicle imports from January to May exceed 300000

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 15) - As the domestic automobile industry continues to struggle, Chinese imports have grown again in the first five months of the year, nbd.com.cn reported today. Exports from January to May totaled 330,000 units, 38 percent higher than the same period last year. In May alone, 69,525 vehicles were imported, 34.2 percent higher than the amount imported in May 2010.

Skoda to introduce new models as Chinese sales reach new highs

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 11) - Skoda is preparing to release five new models in the future, the Guangzhou Daily reported today. The announcement comes as the manufacturer announced its Chinese sales performance since the beginning of the year. Skoda sold 112,110 vehicles from January to June, accounting for over half of its global sales.
