BAIC BJEV and visionICs, a Silicon Valley-based technology company, has set up a joint laboratory of autonomous driving technology to research and develop the solid-state LiDAR-focused next-generation multi-sensor fusion autonomous driving system.

Alibaba Group’s Cainiao Network and RoboSense, jointly launched G Plus, the world’s first solid-state LiDAR-equipped unmanned logistics vehicle at the 2018 Global Smart Logistics Summit (GSLS) on May 31.

It’s learned that Baidu has reached investment intent with Velodyne LiDAR, but no accurate investmentamount or share ratio has been reported. In the future, the two companies will conduct deep cooperation in self-driving and other areas. Velodyne is a Silicon Valleycompany which established in 1983, famous for its 64-Line Laser Radar Product, which is used by Google’s self-driving car.
