Gasgoo.com (Shanghai) - Volkswagen’s recent scandals with covering up the extent of emissions coming out of their vehicles have raised different responses across the world. In the US, where VW gave large amounts of compensation to affected owners, the brand’s reputation still suffered, going as far as tarnishing the prestige of German automakers as a whole. By comparison, in China consumers voiced complaints that they were not receiving similar compensation to consumers of other countries. However, VW still continues to lead the Chinese market by a large margin, as the brand dominates a huge share of the Chinese market.

Huan Su S3L, a seven-seat SUV mode launched by BAIC, one of leading automakers in China, debuted on the Chengdu Auto Show on 2 September.

On the 12th China Auto Industry Development International Forum held on September 2ed in Tianjin, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, together with National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), all expressed their attitudes that policies on alternative energy vehicles will be tightened, performed by the lifting entry level of financial policies, enterprises and products. In the meantime, supports on alternative energy vehicles’ R&D will also be increased.
