VW sold 1.6 million vehicles in China in the first ten months and is set to complete its sales target of 2 millions for this year. Mr. Sou revealed, adding that the German automaker will introduce more of its luxury car brands to China and will certainly bring in the VW R-Series next year.

China's luxury car sales will grow 70% in 2010, FAW-VW says

"In recent years, the luxury car segment in China has been growing more than twice as fast as the other segments. If everything goes well, sales of luxury cars should approach 700,000 units in 2010, a year-on-year increase of 70%," said Zhang Xiaojun, executive vice-president of FAW-VW Audi Sales Division. Meanwhile, JD Power & Associates predicted that luxury car sales in China will double by 2015.

VW plans electric-vehicle production in China after three years

Shanghai November 16 (Gasgoo.com) Volkswagen AG is planning local production of its electric vehicles in China in 2013 or 2014, Yang Meihong, vice president of Volkswagen Group China, said at the launching ceremony of the "China Low-Carbon Corporation Initiative" held on Nov 12 in Beijing, China Securities Journal reported Tuesday.
