As for the more specific sales plan, the Yuan PLUS will be put onto the Japanese market in January next year, while sales of the Dolphin and the Seal wil begin in mid- and the second half of 2023, respectively.
BYD started serving Japanese users with its rechargeable batteries as far back as 1999. Subsequently, it began selling all-electric buses, energy storage systems, full-electric forklifts, and other products in this country, gaining a solid market foundation and a favorable brand reputation.
Up until now, BYD's new energy vehicles (NEVs) have been sold to over 400 cities in more than 70 countries and regions.
On July 8, the company saw the ATTO 3, an A-segment SUV riding on its e-platform 3.0, go on sale in Singapore.
Notably, the ATTO 3 was originally the name designated to the BYD Yuan PLUS sold in Australia. In Japan, the model will be sold under the name of "ATTO 3" as well.
