BYD sees 3 millionth NEV roll off production line

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BYD Company Limited ("BYD" or "the group") today held an online ceremony to celebrate its 3 millionth new energy vehicle (NEV) rolling off the production line at the manufacturing base in Changzhou city, making BYD the first Chinese indigenous auto brand to hit the milestone.

It took BYD 13 years to complete the first-million-NEV production volume, said the group, while the span was shortened to only one year and half a year for the second and third million units of NEV output, respectively.

At the event, Wang Chuanfu, chairman and president of BYD, delivered the significant 3 millionth NEV, which is a BYD Seal sedan, to Wang Shuang, a Chinese football star.

The chairman revealed the first model under its fire new premium brand targeting 1 million yuan of price range, Yangwang, would make its debut in the first quarter of 2023.

Meanwhile, Wang Chuanfu also disclosed that BYD would launch another new brand next year that aims to meet consumers' increasingly diverse and personalized demands, and will invite users to join its development.

In the future, the group will form a product matrix composed of BYD (including the Dynasty and Ocean series), DENZA, Yangwang, and the aforesaid personalized all-new brands, in order to cater to users' demands from family users to luxury, and from mass market to customization.
