GAC AION’s Hyper GT hits market, starting at 219,900 yuan

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On July 3, Hyper, GAC AION’s nascent sub-brand dedicated to premium electric vehicles, officially put the Hyper GT car model onto the market. Coming with five trim levels, the model features an official guidance price range of 219,900 yuan to 339,900 yuan.

The Hyper GT was crafted on the AEP3.0 BEV (battery electric vehicle)-dedicated platform and the new high-end electronic and electric architecture known as “Xingling”.

The aesthetics of the car bring forth a new design language that the company refers to as "Wind and Water Rising". Sporting a sleek, clean front end and slender headlights, the car exudes a futuristic aura that is difficult to overlook. Furthermore, the Hyper GT comes equipped with an electric vent in the lower surround, adjusting airflow based on the car's speed to optimize aerodynamics and heat dissipation.

Transitioning to the side of the vehicle, the fluid and streamlined contour gives the Hyper GT an uncanny resemblance to a race car, enhanced by the futuristic gullwing door design. This design comes with a high-opening angle of up to 43° and a wide door swing of 573mm. A radar sensing system and a 360° environment perception capability is installed to avoid any collisions, adjusting the door opening angle in real-time if obstacles are detected. To further enhance user experience, all doors on the vehicle are equipped with an electronic suction closing feature.

The rear spoiler, designed in line with aerodynamic principles, seamlessly blends with the tail when not raised and effectively guides airflow when elevated. In terms of dimensions, the new car measures 4,886mm in length, 1,885mm in width, and 1,449mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920mm.

On the inside, the Hyper GT projects a simple yet tech-savvy design. Behind the three-spoke steering wheel lies an 8.8-inch liquid crystal instrument cluster, while a 14.6-inch 2.5K high-definition screen makes up the central control screen. Other thoughtful designs include two wireless phone charging modules beneath the center control screen and built-in speakers in the headrests of the integrated front row sport seats.

As for the power solutions, there are two configurations to choose from, all employing rear-wheel-drive layout. The 560km and 600km variants are equipped with a 59.9kWh ternary lithium battery and a 70.1kWh iron phosphate battery, respectively, both of which come with an electric motor that is good for up to 180kW and 355N·m. The 710km variant features an 80.1kWh ternary lithium battery, an electric motor with a maximum power of 250kW and a peak torque of 430 N·m. The 0-100km/h acceleration time for this variant is 4.9 seconds.

Furthermore, the independent suspension structure featuring a double-wishbone front and five-link rear arms contributes to superior handling, and the proprietary AICS intelligent chassis system boosts steering sensitivity and precision by 30%.

Speaking of the intelligent systems aboard the Hyper GT, the car uses the ADiGO 5.0 intelligent OS with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 cockpit chip. The system supports an array of applications including Amap, NetEase Cloud Music, iQIYI, Youku, bilibili, Mango TV, and Ximalaya. The vehicle also comes with the advanced ADiGO Pilot, which is a high-level autonomous driving assistant equipped with three second-generation laser radars, space-grade infrared remote sensing cameras, 12 ultrasonic radars throughout the vehicle, and ten cameras, enhancing features such as lane recognition and change detection.
