Gotion High-Tech’s first battery production line in Germany factory starts operation

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On the morning of September 16th, local time, as the first locally produced battery product rolled off the production line at Gotion High-Tech's factory in Göttingen, the company's first battery production line in its Germany factory officially commenced operations.

This milestone signifies the achievement of Gotion's localization of production and supply in Europe, marking the beginning of "Made in Germany" for Gotion's batteries.

During a presentation on Gotion's European strategic layout, Gotion High-Tech's CTO, Cai Yi, revealed that the designed production capacity plan for the Göttingen factory is 20GWh, expected to be completed in four phases. Upon full completion, it is projected to achieve an annual output value of 2 billion euros.

Peter Willemsen, COO of Gotion Global and managing director of the German entities, stated, "The battery pack products from the factory include those for commercial vehicles, energy storage systems, and passenger vehicles. Additionally, the factory will serve as an R&D, logistics, and after-sales service center for Gotion's European production and operations base."

On the same day, Gotion High-Tech signed cooperation agreements with five globally renowned companies, covering various aspects of collaboration, including battery materials and product development, supply of automotive and energy storage products, and more.

To be specific, Gotion High-Tech is set to expand its cooperation with BASF China in battery materials-related projects. Collaboration with ABB Group from Switzerland will encompass battery product supply and technology R&D, with ABB's automation products supporting Gotion's new factories in Europe and the United States. Furthermore, Gotion High-Tech will collaborate with Ebusco on the development and production of energy storage battery systems, as well as wind and solar energy storage project development. Finally, the partnerships with Ficosa and Idneo will focus on the joint development in areas such as smart mobile energy charging vehicles, battery banks, battery recycling, BMS (battery management system), and big data engineering.
