Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On November 18, BYD marked its 30th anniversary by rolling off its 10 millionth new energy vehicle (NEV) at the BYD Xiaomo Industrial Park in Shenzhen's Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone. During the event, BYD Chairman Wang Chuanfu handed over the keys of the 10 millionth NEV—a DENZA Z9—to Feng Ji, the founder and CEO of Game Science, and producer of the popular video game Black Myth: Wukong.
On October 20, BYD announced a global strategic partnership with Black Myth: Wukong, becoming its exclusive automotive brand partner. As part of this strategic partnership, BYD and Game Science, the studio behind Black Myth: Wukong, have agreed to collaborate on the protection of China's cultural heritage and national treasures. BYD will work with Game Science to digitize historical sites, providing valuable data for future restoration efforts. In 2024, the partnership will begin in Shanxi province, where much of the game's scenery was filmed, partnering with local museums to digitally scan national treasures. Further plans to expand the project to other provinces will be announced, contributing to the preservation of China's cultural assets.
The DENZA Z9, officially hit the market on November 15 at the Auto Guangzhou 2024, comes with five variants, priced between 334,800 yuan and 414,800 yuan. Positioned as a D-segment luxury sedan, the Z9 features the e3 technology platform, integrating cutting-edge technologies such as independent tri-motor drive and dual rear-motor independent steering. These innovations offer users a superior driving experience focused on agility and safety. Notably, the Z9's enhanced stability system ensures the vehicle stays on course even on slippery or icy surfaces. In extreme scenarios, such as a high-speed blowout at 140 km/h, the e3 technology helps maintain vehicle stability.

Additionally, Wang Chuanfu announced a 3-billion-yuan charitable fund focused on educational philanthropy. The fund will establish scholarships at universities across China and donate NEV dissection vehicles to vocational schools, museums, and science centers nationwide. The initiative aims to inspire students' interest in automotive technology and advanced manufacturing, nurturing the next generation of outstanding engineers.
Looking ahead, BYD revealed its plan to invest 100 billion yuan in the next phase of development, focusing on integrating artificial intelligence with automotive technologies to fully advance complete vehicle intelligence.
