UK Motor vehicle production in April, 2007

In the three months to April 2007, total car production, seasonally adjusted, increased by 3.0 per cent compared with the previous three months. Production for the home market increased by 6.5 per cent and production allocated for the export market rose by 1.8 per cent.

Compared with the same three months a year ago, total car production, seasonally adjusted, decreased by 6.1 per cent.

Production allocated for the home market decreased by 3.0 per cent and production for the export market fell by 7.2 per cent.

Total commercial vehicle production, seasonally adjusted, for the three months ending April 2007 decreased by 5.3 per cent compared with the previous three months and fell by 1.5 per cent compared with the same period a year ago.

Compared with the same period a year ago, total car production not seasonally adjusted for the three months to April 2007 decreased by 8.5 per cent. Production allocated for the home market decreased by 4.3 per cent and export production fell by 9.8 per cent.

Total commercial vehicle production, not seasonally adjusted, for the three months to April 2007 decreased by 2.7 per cent compared with the same period a year ago. Production allocated for the home market increased by 16.3 per cent while export production decreased by 11.9 per cent.
