Breakthrough in Technology Encourages Great Market Shares of China’s BYD

Gasgoo (Shanghai, August 31th)—Sales of green vehicles of BYD, one of leading automakers in China, have been 49,000 units, with a year-on-year rise of 130.74%, in the first half in 2016. And sales of electric vehicles have been 22,000 units with a yearly rise of more than 300%, taking up 44.9%.

Sales of green vehicles have been 170,000 units in the country, including 120,000 units of passenger vehicles of alternative energy, according to data from China’s government. Then, sales of BYD, we can tell, have taken up 29% of market shares.

Sales of green passenger vehicles of the company have accounted for 36% of market shares. Qin and Tang, both of which are modes of plug-in hybrid vehicles, have great performance, with sales of about 10,000 units and 19,000 units respectively, taking up 65% of market shares.

Domestically, there have been over 8,000 units of electric bus produced in BYD, more than total sales of last year. Development of foreign market has also proved a success.
