Volkswagen sticks to plan for India car plant
Volkswagen is committed to building a new car plant in India but new CEO Martin Winterkorn has started a review of which models to build there, Europe's biggest carmaker said today.
The company's supervisory board had already approved a $532.2 million (400 million euros) plant in western India and management is sticking to that plan, a spokesman said after Germany's Manager Magazine had reported Winterkorn put the project on ice.
