FAW Haima said to change name and abandon SUV

Shanghai (Gasgoo)-In recent days, FAW Haima was reported to change its name to Family. According to a person from FAW Haima, he hasn't heard the final decision. The reply indicates that the report may be the truth. In addition, FAW Haima may abandon the SUV business and concentrate on multi-functional sedans. 

FAW Haima covers a range of vehicle models, including sedan, SUV and MPV.  Among the models, the Haima S7, positioned as a compact SUV, only sold 1,400 units during past ten months. Compared with the large monthly sales of other self-owned models, the S7 really undergoes an intense competition from the market.

What's more, news has reported that FAW Haima even plans to abandon the MPV business to focus on the Family series, especially the seven-seater multi-functional sedan, the Family F7. 

Currently, although the growth of Chinese SUV market is slowing down, the SUV still enjoys the greatest popularity in China. Therefore, a majority of the automakers give the top priority to SUV. If FAW Haima really abandons SUV, it seems to be an odd move in auto industry.

For FAW Haima, once the name confirmed to change, the whole dealership network will face great changes consequently. It is predictable that a large quantity of tasks and difficulties await FAW Haima in the future.
