Shanghai (Gasgoo)- According to data from the China Passenger Car Association, in the past year, the wholesales of China passenger vehicles (PV) reached 24,216,999 units, up 2.2 percent from a year earlier. However, the last month in 2017 saw a year-on-year decrease of 0.4 percent in China PV wholesales to 2,598,432 units.
The association also gave a list of top 10 PV automakers by 2017 wholesales. The first four members on the list remained the same as the year before, namely, SAIC-VW, SAIC-GM, FAW-VW and SGM-Wuling.
There were big changes in the fifth to seventh members. Changan Motor’s rank fell from the fifth to the seventh in 2017, while Dongfeng Nissan replaced it to be the fifth. Last year, Geely Auto surpassed Changan to be the sixth while it was the last one on the top 10 list.
The standing of Great Wall and Changan Ford remained the same. Beijing Hyundai ranked tenth by 2017 PV wholesales while it was the sixth in 2016.
