Shanghai (Gasgoo)- At Auto China 2018, Chinese autonomous driving startup Jingchi.ai unveiled its new L4 self-driving vehicle, which is also the first self-driving car showcased at Auto China in Beijing ever.

The L4 self-driving vehicle, which is independently developed by the startup, carries the 128-laser beam Lidar from the world-leading radar supplier Velodyne. The self-driving car is able to rapidly identify the categories of obstacles and has been improved in the recognition accuracy of distant obstacles.

Jingchi ai. has owned the largest self-driving fleet among Chinese autonomous driving startups, with by far over 20 self-driving cars. Moreover, its self-driving cars had successfully traveled across the underwater tunnel of the Pearl River without GPS signal.

By the end of 2018, Jingchi ai. aims to own self-driving vehicles up to 100 to 200 units, radiating range of 15 to 20 kilometers in Guangzhou. What’s more, the startup plans to complete A-round funding in the near future, and also to increase the staff number to over 200 worldwide, among which 100 are from China, according to Zhang Li, the startup's vice president of operation.
