All-new BYD e6 features same design, dimension as Qin Pro EV500

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- The patent images of the all-new BYD e6 were exposed by the MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) several days ago. The curious point is that the new model is identical with the BYD Qin Pro EV500 in both exterior design and dimension parameters.

The existing BYD e6 is an all-electric compact MPV targeting the all-electric taxi service markets at home and abroad. However, the newly-released patent images show that the all-new BYD e6 should be a pure electric sedan model.

The all-new BYD e6 features the same dimension as that of the BYD Qin Pro EV500. It measures 4,765mm in length, 1,837mm in width and 1,515mm in height. Wheelbase for the new model is 2,718mm. Moreover, the all-new e6 also adopts the “Dragon Face” design language for its exterior.

A mark of “e6” at the rear end makes the all-new e6 differentiates from the Qin Pro EV500. Besides, the new model features a logo of “BYD” rather than the Chinese character of “Qin” used in the Qin Pro EV500.

The BYD Qin Pro EV500, hitting the market last month, is the first e-platform-based all-electric sedan model developed by BYD. Powered the company’s self-developed ternary-lithium battery with a capacity of 56.4kWh and an energy density up to 160.9Wh/kg, the vehicle boasts a range of 500km at a constant speed. Prices after the subsidy incentive given range between RMB169,900 and RMB189,900.
