WM Motor launches Project W and Invites Global Talent in Silicon Valley

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- WM Motor (WM), a provider of new energy vehicles and mobility solutions in China, held its first oversea seminar themed “Living Cars Energize Intelligent Mobility” and launched its“Project W- WM City Mobility on Demand”. The announcement is not merely the start of WM's upgrades into a data-driven hardware company, but also marks a historic moment for WM in creating a new path for autonomous driving in China. Mr. Jarvis Yan, Partner and CTO of WM, and Mrs. Jane Song, Partner and Human Resource Vice President of WM attended and interacted with guests at the seminar.

WM will leverage on the advancement of China's ‘intelligent vehicle infrastructure cooperative systems’(IVICS), to seamlessly integrate with WM Motor's intelligent vehicle and the entire smart transportation system. “Due to the complicated road conditions, China has developed the IVICS at the very beginning and has taken advantage of fast iterative wireless communication and sensor detection technologies such as 4G /5G to promote the dynamic real-time interaction of human, vehicle and road information in an all-round way, to approaching the intelligent driving. Phase I of “Project W- WM City Mobility on Demand” is officially activated. We have built several R&D bases worldwide and also in Silicon Valley, and will accelerate the upgrades of autonomous driving technology,to provide a shared, convenient mobility within IoT cities.”

With the mass delivery starting in September last year, WM has accomplished its first step as a popularizer of smart electric vehicle, and is now moving a step forward to a hardware company driven by big data. At this year's CES, WM announced a strategic partnership with Baidu to jointly develop on Level 3 autonomous driving solutions and aim for mass production by 2021. Project W indicates that WM will take full advantage of its R&D capacity in connected vehicles to further develop autonomous driving and will form alliance with global partners to realize its commercialization.
