The system will be deployed on two Level 3 autonomous heavy-duty trucks the startup jointly developed with Dongfeng Trucks and Sinotruck, and is expected for mass production and delivery at the end of 2021. Through OTA (over-the-air) upgrade, the system will help the trucks advance into Level 4 in the future.

According to Inceptio Technology, the “Xuanyuan” system boasts the algorithms dedicated to difficult problems in developing autonomous driving system for heavy-duty trucks.

Pivoting on the characteristics of trucks and users' core demands, the startup develops the ULRS (ultra-long range sensing), ARC (adaptive robust control) and FEAD (fuel efficient autonomous driving) algorithms to addresses core technical problems.

To be specific, the ULRS can make the system perceive an ultra-long distance of up to 1,000 meters with a margin of error standing below 5%. Using the ARC, the system can have the transverse controlling error remain within 10 centimeters under different loads and road conditions. The FEAD will make the engine under the best working condition in terms of fuel economy as much as possible by virtue of a huge amount of driving data and the optimal driving strategies for self-learning, including LTP (long-term prediction), IDM (intelligent decision maker) and VIP(vehicle-in-the-loop planner).

The “Xuanyuan” features a fully self-developed automotive-grade computing platform with a computing power of 245 TOPS and an energy efficiency ratio of 1.53 TOPS/W. The platform is compatible with diversified autonomous driving chips offered by such companies as NVIDIA, Horizon Robotics and Ambarella.
