Xpeng Motors’ Jan.-Feb. auto deliveries rocket 577% YoY

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chinese EV startup Xpeng Motors announced it delivered 2,223 new vehicles in February, traditionally an off-season for car shopping in China.

For the first two months of 2021, the company boasted a precipitous surge of 577% year on year with 8,238 smart EVs delivered in total.

Last month, 1,409 consumers took delivery of the Xpeng P7s, resulting in a cumulative delivery volume of 20,181 units.

Xpeng Motors said it made progress on businesses of export, charging service and autonomous driving solution. Its second batch of Xpeng G3 SUVs to be sold in Norway departed from Guangzhou on Feb. 4. This came after the successful customer delivery of its first batch of G3s for the Norwegian market in December 2020, marking another step in the company's global market offensive.

On Feb. 8, Xpeng Motors announced it was about to launch 15 supercharging stations across 12 Chinese cities to offer Xpeng's car owners dedicated supercharging services.

The EV manufacturer claimed that the Navigation Guided Pilot (NGP) function was driven for a cumulative distance of 1,023,884 km within its first 25 days. It took NGP's users 15 days to accumulate driving distance of 500,000 kilometers, and completed next 500,000-km range within only 11 days, reflecting consumer's strong acceptance of the function.

As a key part of Xpeng's XPILOT 3.0 autonomous driving package, the NGP's public test version was launched to consumers in China on Jan. 26. Powered by the NGP, vehicles are available for point-to-point navigation assisted autonomous driving based on the navigation route set by the driver.
