Shanghai (Gasgoo)- FAW-Volkswagen (FAW-VW), a passenger car joint venture between FAW Group and Volkswagen AG, on July 18 began delivering the ID.6 CROZZ, a Chinese-spec version of Volkswagen's MEB (modular electric drive matrix)-based all-electric model, the ID.6. Coming with five variants, the ID.6 CROZZ is priced between 239,800 yuan ($36,980) and 334,800 yuan ($51,630) after subsidies.

According to FAW-VW, the vehicle's first car owner will enjoy free lifetime maintenance and roadside assistance services, and one-year free charging service offered by CAMS, a charging joint venture among Volkswagen Group China, FAW Group, JAC Motors and Star Charge.

The ID.6 CROZZ is the sister model of the ID.6 X, which is made by SAIC Volkswagen in Anting Town, Shanghai, and hit the market in mid-June. Compared to the ID.6 X, the ID.6 CROZZ has a slimmer grille which merges into the headlight cluster. Aside from some styling nuances, the two models look rather similar. Both of them feature a sleek closed-off grille, a muscular bonnet, a wide air vent, wrap-around taillight cluster, and silvered skid plate. Besides, the IQ.Light LED matrix headlights, which are carried by the ID.4, are still adopted by the ID.6 CROZZ.

The new BEV model measures 4,891mm long, 1,848mm wide, and 1,679mm tall with a wheelbase that spans 2,965mm.

Retaining a clean interior look of VW's ID family, the ID.6 CROZZ is still home to the 5.3-inch liquid crystal dashboard, the 12-inch floating console-mounted display, and the rotary gear selector. It is available with the same augmented reality head-up display technology introduced on other ID. series vehicles and the latest version of VW's Travel Assist semi-autonomous driving functionality. Besides, the new model offers arrangements for either six or seven seats.

There will be two battery versions—62.6kWh and 84.8kWh, and three powertrain versions: single motor 132 kW or 150 kW, and dual-motor all-wheel drive with an output of 230 kW. Depending on battery version, the ID.6 CROZZ features a NEDC-rated range of 439km, 516km, or 565km.
