Shanghai GM recalling 9,824 imported Buick Enclave vehicles

Shanghai August 17 (Gasgoo.com) Shanghai GM has issued yesterday a recall of 9,824 imported Buick Enclave vehicles in China's mainland to fix a variety of potential safety defects, according to the Administration of Quality Supervision and Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ).

Shanghai GM said the recall, covering 9,824 Buick Enclave vehicles made between May 1, 2009 and May 20, 2010, was only part of its global recall.

Owing to design flaws, during the process that the folded second-row seat is returning to the initial location, seat belt lock may interfere with seat plaque, in the moment, the seat belt lock will be stuck between seat back and seat frame, possibly damaging its outer skin or causing the lock not to be able to lock or unlock normally. In the case, the seat belt will not work normally, affecting user's safety.

Shanghai GM will fix the defects by polishing or reshaping the plaques on the second-row seats.

Shanghai GM's service centers have started from August 16 to inform the owners concerned of the recall, and owners can call the company at 8008202020 for consultation or schedule a repair in the meanwhile.
