Automotive experts and researchers select Gasgoo's top ten most talented managers

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai) - Gasgoo.com has released their award list of ten most talented managing directors in the Chinese automotive industry. Award recipients come from top auto part companies, Sino-foreign joint ventures, state-owned enterprises and private businesses.

The recipients are as follows: Chen Yudong, President of Bosch (China) Investment Company;Shan Jun, China Regional Manager of Philips (China) Automotive Lighting Company; Frank Wang, General Manager of Delphi (China) Corporation's Electronic and Safety Operations in the Asia-Pacific Region; Dai Xiaobo, Automotive President of SKF (China) Group; Zhang Yilin, Automotive President of Schaeffler Group (China); David Cue, Vice President and General Manager ，Original Equipment Advanced Power Solutions Asia, Johnson Controls; Robert Pyle, President of Dana Holding Corporation's Asia-Pacific Branch; Guo Huijun, Vice President of TRW Automotive's Asia-Pacific Branch; Li Heping, General Manager of the Hangzhou Spring Company; and Zhang Yang, Deputy General Manager of Tianrun Crankshaft Company.

Since Chen Yudong's appointment as China President in January 2011, Bosch (China) reported stable performance growth. Adhering to its 'made in China to serve China' marketing strategy, Dr. Chen led Bosch to increase localization rates for the company's production, R&D and management operations. During this process of increased localization, Bosch established a full value chain that fosters cooperation with partners from all across the industry. Both Bosch and its partners are working together to increase its competitiveness in the industry. Bosch has also announced its plans to expand its local talent, having set a goal to increase its management team by 500 members, with the majority coming from China. Dr. Chen has also advocated long-term investment in order to promote enterprise responsibility, with the Bosch China Charity Center having approved approximately 40 charity programs, including projects to fund education in impoverished regions in Western China.

Frank Wang, Global Vice President and Asia-Pacific Region General Manager of Delphi (China) Corporation's Electronic and Safety Operations, is also Managing Director in charge of the department's Electronic Control Product Business. As the person responsible for Delphi's Electronic and Safety Operations in the Asia-Pacific Region, Frank Wang,has guided his department to follow the company's development principle of 'safety, environmental friendliness and connectivity'. Mr. Wang has constantly encourage increasingly localized production, R&D and talent in the Chinese market, with the goal of introducing and developing state-of-the-art safety, electric vehicle-use and entertainment system products in the country. He is also an advocate of Delphi's 'easy to work with' corporate culture, which encourage increased innovation with the goal of providing a richer selection of products to meet customers' requirements. Mr. Wang is a member of the Global Planning Committee for Delphi's Electronic and Safety Operations.

In his 18 years at Phillips, Shan Jun has served in various positions ranging from sales, marketing and business in mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Mr. Shan has been especially active in the B2B and B2C businesses. He possesses a great deal of experience in strengthening strategic cooperation with partner companies, customer management and sales channel development management. His experience has been focused on consumer guidance, value chain optimization and group building. A 2003 EMBA graduate of the China Europe International Business School, Mr. Shan has done a great deal of research on ground breaking trends in the promotion of technology and technical knowledge. He has been noted for his innovative spirit in his work.

Zhang Yilin, Automotive President of Schaeffler Group China, has worked in a variety of technological, sales and management roles during his career, including testing engineer, project manager and marketing director. Since his appointment as Automotive President in 2004, Dr. Zhang has used his unique knowledge, management expertise and rich experience to boost Schaeffler Group China's automotive businesses, whose annual sales volume increased over 30-fold from 2004 to 2012.

David Cue is the Vice President and General Manager ，Original Equipment Advanced Power Solutions Asia, Johnson Controls. Mr. Cue has over 20 years of experience working in the automotive industry, with eight of those years being involved with hybrid powered and pure electric vehicles. He currently focuses on technology R&D work and commercial expansion of new energy vehicle batteries. The group he is in charge of possesses a comprehensive understanding of consumer technology needs, which ensures the future development of Johnson Controls' products in the automotive battery market.

Guo Huijun, Vice President of TRW Automotive's Asia-Pacific Branch, is in charge of sales and business development in the China region. Prior to his appointment to this role, Mr. Guo already possessed a very rich background in sales and management work in the automotive industry. In his three years at TRW Automotive, Mr. Guo has led his team to make some remarkable accomplishments. Mr. Guo has promoted the development of automotive safety products, especially electronic assisted steering and electronic braking, as well as increased the safety technology level of own brand vehicles. Also deserving of mention are his efforts to increase safety education and awareness in both auto part companies through the cooperation with social media.

Robert Pyle is the President of Dana Holding Corporation's Asia-Pacific Branch. Mr. Pyle possesses a substantial amount of experience acting as a leader, with a large amount of that experience focused in management of auto part manufacturers in the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to joining Dana, he served as General Manager of Yanfeng Visteon Automotive Trim Systems, a Visteon joint venture in China. Before that, he was Vice President of Corporate Development of ASIMCO Technologies. Under Mr. Pyle's leadership, Dana succeeded in establishing both a technology center and an aftermarket distribution center in Wuxi, as well as releasing the Spicer Rui Ma brand and its full range of axle, transmission and  driveshaft products. This series of products has been fully designed and manufactured in China for Chinese customers. Dana reported double-digit sales growth in the Asia-Pacific region in 2012.

Despite lacking a background in marketing and sales before, Dai Xiaobo, Automotive President of SKF (China) Group, has relied on immeasurable time put in research to succeed in making the shift to business development the automotive industry. Due to his constant innovation and balanced leadership, the SKF China team has managed to establish the country's first foreign-funded training platform targeted specifically at improving the quality of workers at automobile repair centers, Tec-Man. He has also exerted a great deal of effort in promoting cooperation and communication for SKF's sales network. Using only one year's time he has managed to completely turn around the company's financial performance. Its sales have tripled in just four years.

Li Heping simultaneously holds the positions of General Manager of the Hangzhou Spring Company, Managing Director of the China General Machine Components Industry Association, Deputy Chairman of the China Spring Professional Association and Chairman of the Industry Training Committee. Following his appointment, Hangzhou Spring Company's annual production capacity and sales volume both increased enormously. He has been awarded a number of titles in the industry. Mr. Li has also made notable achievements in the academic study of enterprise management, publishing a number of award-winning academic papers on the subjects.

Following his appointment as Deputy General Manager of Tianrun Crankshaft Company in 2007, Zhang Yang implemented a number of market expansion and brand operation policies which has led to his company's receiving several 'excellent supplier' awards and its successful listing on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in August 2009. In addition, Tianrun Crankshaft has been classified as a 'Post-Doctoral Research Center' by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security's Committee of Post-Doctoral Researchers during Dr. Zhang's time at the company. The sales division that he oversees has constantly reported rapidly growing returns and profits. Dr. Zhang, who has been awarded for his work by the City of Weihai, has made enormous contributions to Tianrun Crankshaft's growth.
