Changan Ford officially announced to purchase Hafei Automobile

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai Mar 27)– The purchasing case between Changan Ford and Hafei Automobile has been come to a close recently. On March, 19th, Changan Ford released a brief announcement about purchasing Hafei Automobile officially and updating it to meet the needs of Chinese market. It means Changan Ford will require a brand new manufacturing base in Northeast China, which will be 5th base after 3 factories in Chongqing and the factory in Hangzhou. The announcement has been delayed by different parites in Changan auto although there has been many signs about the purchase.

On Mar. 23rd, the vice president of Ford China, Mrs. Li, said to reporter both parties were delivering procedures and there would be more capacity of 200,000 provided by Hafei, supplying enough capacity for Ford in Chinese auto market.

In fact, the general manager of Hafei auto, Mr. Liu had told reporter the case would be decided by Ford by the end of March.

According to related official websites of Haerbin city, Changan Ford will invest 6.597 billion Yuan to build new base, upgrading existing factory and 4 technology production lines, after which, the primary models of Hafei auto will be weeded out. The models of C346 & I06 of Changan Ford will be manufactured here, whose output volume will be total 120,000. The capacity of 80,000 left will be used to manufacture Alsvin V3.
