Gasgoo Munich- On February 2, BYD officially announced the launch of Linghui, marking the automaker's fourth sub-brand following FANGCHENGBAO, DENZA and YANGWANG, and further expanding its multi-brand strategy in the new energy vehicle (NEV) space.

Linghui is positioning itself squarely in the commercial mobility space, targeting business-oriented transportation segments such as ride-hailing fleets, taxis and corporate vehicle services. The brand will operate separately from the consumer passenger car market, supported by an independent sales and distribution network designed specifically for B2B customers.
In a coordinated social media interaction, BYD Auto welcomed the new brand, framing Linghui as a platform aimed at "leading high-value mobility" and delivering a better everyday travel experience for consumers.
According to the brand's official explanation, the name "Linghui" reflects a dual positioning. "Ling" conveys leadership and the ambition to reshape the NEV landscape, while "Hui" emphasizes inclusiveness and a design philosophy rooted in everyday user scenarios rather than niche or purely aspirational use cases.
Linghui said it squarely targets the sector between two increasingly polarized ends of China's NEV market. On one side, premium and luxury models continue to push prices higher; on the other, many mainstream offerings struggle to keep pace with rising consumer expectations for performance, intelligence and overall experience. The new brand is designed to address this gap by offering vehicles that retain advanced technology while remaining accessible in pricing.
As part of the BYD ecosystem, Linghui is expected to draw on the group's core technology stack. Potential configurations include BYD's DiPilot advanced driver assistance system and the DiSus intelligent body control system, alongside mature platforms such as e-Platform 3.0, fifth-generation DM technology, the eight-in-one electric powertrain and wide-temperature-range high-efficiency heat pump systems.
Hints of the new brand had already surfaced earlier this month. On January 8, filings published by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) revealed "Linghui" as a newly registered BYD vehicle marque, complete with a previously unseen brand logo.
The same MIIT disclosure showed four initial Linghui models. Three are battery-electric sedans—the Linghui e5, e7 and e9—while the fourth is the Linghui M9, a plug-in hybrid MPV. Together, they suggest that the brand will span both family-oriented and practical mobility segments from the outset, reinforcing BYD's push to cover a broader range of consumer needs with differentiated sub-brands.
