Gasgoo Munich- On April 28, NIO Inc. introduced the ONVO L80 for pre-sale, positioning the model as a flagship five-seat SUV under its ONVO brand. The L80 joins the previously unveiled L90 to form a dual-flagship lineup, aimed at the premium intelligent SUV segment.

The vehicle is priced from 245,800 yuan for full purchase, or from 159,800 yuan under NIO's BaaS scheme. Display units have already been delivered to showrooms nationwide, with test drives scheduled to begin on May 1 and official market launch set for May 15.

In terms of design, the ONVO L80 carries forward the styling language of the L90, integrating intelligent lighting systems capable of interactive signaling and adaptive beam control, including dynamic cornering illumination and customizable lighting signatures. A tower-style sensor layout is seamlessly embedded into the body, while sculpted side lines enhance both stability and visual dynamism.

The SUV is offered in six exterior colors, including a newly introduced green finish inspired by layered mountain landscapes, alongside four interior themes designed to emphasize a premium cabin atmosphere.

Measuring 5,145 mm in length with a 3,110 mm wheelbase, the L80 delivers a space utilization rate of 81.5%. The rear design adopts a horizontal light bar with integrated smart interaction features, complemented by a roof spoiler and concealed rear wiper.

The model will be available with two intelligent driving configurations: a LiDAR-based system powered by NIO's NX9031 in-house chip and proprietary "world model," and a vision-only solution equipped with NVIDIA Orin X hardware.

Comfort features include powered running boards, soft-close doors, and intelligent welcome lighting. Second-row seats offer up to 135 degrees of recline, while all seats come standard with heating, ventilation, and massage functions.

Inside, the ONVO L80 features a 17.2-inch 3K central display—the largest in its class—paired with a 23-speaker audio system delivering 2,048 watts across 24 channels in a 7.1.4 surround configuration with Dolby Atmos support.

The cabin also introduces adaptive headrest audio zones, enabling independent playback for front and rear passengers. A tri-zone climate system with hidden vents, a C95-grade filtration setup, and an 8.8-liter powered hot-and-cold storage unit further enhance in-cabin comfort.

Noise insulation has been a key focus, with 214 acoustic treatment points covering 95% of the cabin. Combined with double-layer soundproof glass and low-noise tires, the vehicle aims to deliver a near-silent interior environment.

The ONVO L80 integrates 53 storage compartments across the cabin, with total storage capacity reaching up to 2,840 liters. The rear cargo area supports a range of modular accessories designed to enable flexible lifestyle use cases.

The vehicle is powered by NIO's Coconut and Coconut+ intelligent systems. The base system runs on the company's full-domain vehicle operating system, SkyOS, while the upgraded version adds a 5nm automotive-grade autonomous driving chip and NIO's proprietary world model, forming the backbone of its AI-driven capabilities.

Built on the same platform as the ONVO L90, the L80 uses a high-strength steel-aluminum hybrid body structure, with steel and aluminum accounting for 84% of the composition. Torsional rigidity reaches 38,150 N·m/deg, and key structural areas incorporate 27.4 kg of 2,000 MPa ultra-high-strength steel.

Safety features include nine airbags as standard, along with a large-capacity side airbag for second-row occupants and extended side curtain airbags.

On the active safety side, the ONVO L80 is equipped with 60 advanced driver assistance features, including an end-to-end architecture-based automatic emergency braking system. Its adaptive headlights offer up to 600 meters of detection range and rapid anti-glare response within 350 milliseconds.

Weighing 2,250 kg, the ONVO L80 is approximately 300 kg lighter than comparable models. Lightweight engineering includes a 72-in-1 integrated die-cast aluminum rear structure, reducing weight by 11.7 kg. The next-generation ternary lithium battery pack weighs 440 kg and measures 116 mm in thickness, contributing to improved interior space efficiency.

The ONVO L80 is equipped with a 925-volt rear electric drive system delivering 340 kW, weighing just 79 kg and occupying 37 liters of space. The rear-wheel-drive variant achieves energy consumption as low as 14.3 kWh per 100 km and offers a combined driving range of up to 615 km.

The all-wheel-drive version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, while a tight turning radius of 5.7 meters enhances maneuverability for a vehicle of its size.
