Gasgoo Munich- NXP Semiconductors announced via its WeChat account that it has signed a new strategic cooperation memorandum, dubbed "MoU 2.0," with Shenzhen Hangsheng Electronics Co., Ltd. ("HSAE"), marking a new phase of deeper collaboration between the two companies.

The upgraded partnership will concentrate on intelligent cockpit systems, smart driving technologies, and secure connected vehicle solutions, with both companies aiming to accelerate innovation in software-defined vehicles and automotive AI applications.
The move reflects a broader trend within China's automotive industry, where suppliers and semiconductor companies are increasingly pursuing closer integration to support the rapid evolution of intelligent vehicle architectures.
NXP and HSAE said their partnership spans more than three decades, during which the two companies have collaborated across intelligent cockpit platforms, infotainment systems, and connected vehicle technologies. They noted that several advanced automotive technologies developed jointly by the two firms previously entered mass production ahead of broader industry adoption.
Under the new cooperation framework, NXP plans to leverage its portfolio in software-defined vehicle platforms, edge AI, and secure connectivity solutions to strengthen system-level co-development capabilities with HSAE.
The companies also plan to establish joint technology innovation centers in Shenzhen, Yangzhou, and Chengdu. These facilities are expected to serve as collaborative development hubs focused on next-generation automotive applications and faster commercialization of emerging technologies.
Yang Hong, chairman of HSAE, said the company is accelerating its transformation toward becoming an AI-driven technology enterprise with ambitions to expand its global position in the automotive electronics sector.
He described the creation of the joint innovation centers with NXP as a key strategic initiative, adding that the two companies plan to combine their technological expertise, market resources, and industry experience to shorten development cycles in next-generation cockpit and intelligent driving technologies.
Yang added that the collaboration is also intended to strengthen the international competitiveness of HSAE's future product portfolio.
