The top six of them, SAIC Group, Dongfeng Motor, Changan Automobile, FAW Group, BAIC Group and GAC Group, accounted for 80.3% of all new car sales in February.

Midsize sedan sales in 2015 totaled 2.19 million units, down 1.2% year-on-year.

According to statistics from Gasgoo.com (Chinese), a total of 3.52 million compact SUVs were sold in 2015, representing year-on-year growth of 36.0%. However, that year-on-year growth rate is far less than the average SUV market growth rate of 52.7%. Compact SUVs account for 56.1% of all SUVs sold in China in 2015, down 6.9 percentage points from the previous year.

According to statistics from Gasgoo.com (Chinese), small SUVs accounted for 27.8% of all SUVs sold in the country in 2015, totaling 1.75 million units. That figure is over double from 2014, far above the average year-on-year growth rate for the overall SUV market.
