SAIC sells 821,800 commercial vehicles in Jan-Jul, up 41.8%

Shanghai August 16 (Gasgoo.com) Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) sold 278,900 vehicles in July, up 24.5% from a year earlier, of which sales of its commercial vehicles rose 5.9% to 97,900 units.

In January-July 2010, the top automaker boosted its vehicles sales to 2.05 million units, up 41.8% year on year, media reported Monday.

Renault to import five new models to China in 2011

Shanghai August 16 (Gasgoo.com) In light of a substantial growth in sales in the first half of this year after 2008's loss and 2009's profitability, Renault SA is planning to import five new models to the Chinese market early next year, Robert Chan, president of Renault's Greater China division, said recently.

The five models to be introduced to China are Renault Laguna Clio, Wind, large Scenic, Small Scenic and Fluence. It is reported that these models will be displayed at the Guangzhou Auto Show at the end of this year and then be launched in China in December this year or January next year.

Tata rumored to partner with Chery to make Jaguar, Land Rover cars

Shanghai August 20 (Gasgoo.com) Automobili Lamborghini SpA, maker of the $450,000 Murcielago SuperVeloce sports car, will import its super luxury four-door sedan, Lamborghini Estoque to China for local production in 2012 with a price tag of around 4 million yuan ($589,000), media reported Friday.

Shanghai VW to suspend Superb production
