The Ninth China International Automobile & Motorcycle Tourism Festival is to kick off in Yinhcuan, capital of northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region on August 15.
The five-day festival has attracted over a thousand vehicles to join in nine themed activities, including Automobile & Motorcycle Cruise, Cross-county completion, Desert-Ascending Challenge, Desert Endurance Competition.
Famous stunt stars from Hollywood will appear in the opening ceremony, when several Chinese rock bands will also add the passion to the festival.
The festival encounters the Chinese Valentine's Day that falls on the seventh of July in Chinese Lunar Calendar, so the automobile and motorcycle fans will appreciate the unique combination of "desert love" and vehicles then.
Erdos of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is another venue for this festival, where the Bonfire Night and automobile-motorcycle Fun-race will be staged.
The festival is to be held to promote the automobile and motorcycle culture as well as Ningxia's international reputation, said the organizers.
The China International Automobile & Motorcycle Tourism Festival was initiated in 2000 in Yinchuan.
