China's auto engine exports, imports rise greatly in Jan-May

Shanghai, July 27 (Gasgoo.com) China's auto engine exports and imports both rose greatly in the first five months of this year, benefiting from the increasing development of the country's automotive industry, media reported.

According to the data released by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), in May 2010, China exported 307,300 auto engines, up 36.16% from a year earlier , with exports amount growing 51.42% from a year earlier to $74 million.

In Jan-May 2010, the country's auto engine exports totaled 1.32 million sets, up 48.71% from a year earlier, with exports amount rising 51.42% y/y to $394 million.

In the first five months, China mainly exported auto engines to the following countries: Japan, Iran, Cuba, Pakistan, Italy, Turkey, Vietnam, South Korea, Russia and Paraguay.

Meanwhile, China's auto engine imports jumped 86.66% in May to 91,100 sets, with imports amount reaching $239 million, a year-on-year increase of 97.17%.

China imported 392,700 auto engines in Jan-May 2010, up 94.13% y/y, with imports amount surging 97.17% to $1.06 billon. 

In Jan-May 2010,China mainly imported auto engines from the following countries: Japan, Germany, South Korea, Hungary, Australia, Netherlands and Britain.

Moreover, the data show that China's exports amount of auto engine components achieved $319 million in May, up 71.49% y/y and $1.32 billion in the first five months, up 58.28% y/y.

In the meanwhile, the imports amount of auto engine components climbed 84.83% y/y to $283 million in May and 106.46% y/y to $1.45 billion in the first five months.

During the period January-May, China mainly exported auto engine components to the following countries: America, Japan, Germany, Britain and Vietnam, and imported the components from countries such as Japan, Germany, South Korea, America, France and so on.
