Gerry Jenkins to become new Chrysler China CEO in Aug

Shanghai, July 16 (Gasgoo.com) American carmaker Chrysler Group has recently announced that Gerry Jenkins will be appointed as CEO and Manager of Chrysler Group China Sales Company, media reported lately.

Gerry Jenkins, former Chrysler Australia managing director, will be responsible for Chrysler China sales and marketing. The appointment will become effective on August 1, 2010.

After taking office in Shanghai next month, Gerry Jenkins will directly report to Kean Zhe, Vice President of Chrysler Group and Chief Executive Officer of Chrysler Asia-Pacific Operations.

Wayne Chumley, current CEO of Chrysler Group China Sales Company, who has been working at Chrysler Group for 30 years, has decided to retire at the end of this year.

Kean Zhe said the company highly appreciates Wayne Chumley's contribution to Chrysler Group, especially his outstanding performance in the global markets including Japan, Korea, China, etc. in the last 16 years.

Gerry Jenkins is a graduate of Concordia University with an MBA degree.
