Shanghai September 25 (Gasgoo.com) German heavy truck maker Man and China National Heavy-Duty Truck Corp (CNHTC or Sinotruck) plan to launch a new truck brand in China next year. The new product will be positioned higher than the mainstream products in China's heavy-duty truck market and targeting other emerging markets as well, The Economic Observer reported Saturday.

The new product will be based on Man's TGA technology, Dr.Georg Pachta-Reyhofen., CEO of Man said at the 2010 IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover, Germany.

Man and Sinotruck will sell the new product in the markets that both sides have not explored yet, such as Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, etc., said Sinotruck's board Chairman Ma Chunji, adding that Brazil will not be an option since Man already has a strong presence in the country.

In 2009, Man purchased 25% stake plus one share in Sinotruck for 6 billion HK dollars ($773.5 million).
