Passenger vehicle (including van) registrations reached 524,960 in April 2007, a year-on-year increase of 22.3%. In terms of body types, sedan models continued their high growth with a year-on-year increase of 29.4%. However, hatchback models were not so promising, registering a year-on-year rise of just 4.3%.
Medium segment experiences rapid growth
The medium segment is the most rapidly developing one in mainland China’s automotive market. In January-April 2007, this segment’s year-on-year growth reached 79.8%, much higher than PV’s overall growth for the third year in a row.
