Gasgoo Munich- FAW Hongqi officially launched the 2026 H5 and the new HQ9 onto the market on May 20.
The 2026 H5 comes in five variants with introductory pricing ranging from 121,000 to 151,000 yuan, while the new HQ9 offers three models priced between 338,800 and 538,800 yuan.
Both models feature significant upgrades in the B-class sedan and luxury MPV segments, reflecting Hongqi's strategy of delivering "equal intelligence across fuel and electric" powertrains.
Specifically, the 2026 H5 retains the family's Waterfall-like grille but moves the "dragon whisker" daytime running lights to the hood's edge. At the rear, chrome trim is gone from the light bar, giving the design a sleeker, more minimalist look.

The cabin gets a major overhaul powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155P chip. It drives a 15.6-inch floating central screen, a 10.25-inch floating cluster, and a HUD in a three-screen setup, all deeply integrated with the Doubao AI model.
On the driver-assist front, the H5 adopts Hongqi's Sinan full-vision solution. It covers highway NOA, city memory navigation, automated parking in all scenarios, and trail reverse assist.

The new HQ9, meanwhile, features the Honghu super hybrid system. It pairs a 40 kWh high-density battery with a 60-liter fuel tank and a 2.0T hybrid-specific engine, delivering a CLTC pure-electric range of 220 km and a total range of 1,200 km.
For smart features, the HQ9 also comes with Hongqi Sinan, supporting automated parking in all scenarios, highway navigation assist, and memory navigation for up to 10 routes.
The cabin is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip and boasts dual 15.6-inch 2.5K displays, plus a 21.4-inch 3K roof-mounted screen. The latter supports stepless adjustment up to 75 degrees and includes a four-way anti-pinch function.
Other luxury touches include a 9.3-liter onboard refrigerator and dual zero-gravity seats.
The simultaneous refresh highlights Hongqi's broad push into intelligence and user experience. The new H5 brings the 8155P chip, AI models, and advanced driver-assistance systems to the B-class sedan market starting at just 121,000 yuan. Meanwhile, the HQ9 plug-in hybrid solidifies its position in the high-end MPV segment with 220 km of electric range and the upgraded 8295P chip.
Whether these models can stir up their respective segments with this "equal intelligence" strategy remains to be seen — and market reaction will be worth watching closely.
