Gasgoo Munich- Chery Group sold 280,128 vehicles in August 2026, an increase of 15.4% year over year, according to figures released on September 1. Exports rose 52.1% to 196,984 vehicles, while new energy vehicle (NEV) sales climbed 69.8% over a year ago to 120,909 units. Monthly NEV sales have now exceeded 100,000 units for five consecutive months.

From January through August, Chery Group sold 1,914,481 vehicles, up 10.8% from a year earlier. Exports soared 68.1% from a year earlier to 1,343,334 units, while NEV sales grew 46.2% to 725,214 units.
By the end of August, Chery had more than 20.44 million vehicle users worldwide, including over 7.18 million outside China. The company said it had become the first Chinese automaker to surpass seven million cumulative vehicle exports.
Hong Kong-listed Chery Automobile (9973.HK) sold 262,990 vehicles in August, up 14% year over year. Its cumulative sales for the first eight months reached 1,799,942 units, an increase of 10.8%.
Among individual models, the FULWIN T7 received more than 23,000 orders within 24 hours of its launch. The FREELANDER 8 attracted over 10,000 orders within 48 hours after pre-sales began on August 14 and is scheduled for a global launch on September 3.
Cumulative deliveries of the LUXEED V9 surpassed 20,000 units, while monthly sales of the new QQ exceeded 10,000 vehicles for a fifth consecutive month.
At the Chengdu Motor Show 2026 in late August, Chery Group exhibited 41 vehicles across the Chery, EXEED, JETOUR, Zongheng, iCAR and LUXEED brands. The Arrizo 7 and iCAR V25 made their global debuts at the event.
Chery exported nearly 70,000 NEVs in August, representing year-over-year surge of 124.2%. According to China Passenger Car Association data, Chery ranked among the industry's top two NEV exporters from January through July.
Cumulative global deliveries by Chery's AiMOGA Robotics exceeded 2,000 units in July. Its Mobo humanoid robot, designed for household companionship, made its public debut at the World Robot Conference in August.
Chery said AiMOGA was China's first humanoid robot product to obtain European Union certification for both hardware and software. It has entered more than 60 countries and regions.
