Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 18) - The dealer network for SAIC-GM-Wuling's first own brand car, the Baojun 630, will be expanded from 100 to over 120 stores, the Beijing News reported today. The announcement was made at a dealer conference held by the joint venture last Wednesday. The 630 will also be delayed until early August so as not to compete with the new Peugeot 508 and VW Magotan.
"Our group has full confidence in the Baojun brand," Shen Yang, CEO of the JV, said at the summit. Mr. Shen hopes that the Baojun 630 (pictured) will add to SAIC-GM-Wuling's advantage in the subcompact segment.
Training work for dealers is currently under progress, with construction work reportedly finished. Yang Jie, head of the JV's sales, stated that they will ensure that customer support for the 630 will be of the utmost quality. The sales target for the new car this year is set at 200,000 units.
