Gasgoo.com (Shanghai April 19th)– According to data from CPCA, 60,000 units index of electric vehicles in Beijing accounts for 54% of the national 110,000 units.
“2016 is a key year for alternative energy vehicles, because the sales will shrink from next year. Beijing should be the main battle field”.
The sales number for alternative energy vehicles rises in March after a two-month slow growth. Data shows the sales number reaches 15,623 units in March, increasing 55% compared with February and 60% with the same period of last year. “The period of 100% growth for alternative energy vehicles has gone, and now the development tends to be steady.”
Despite the overall steady performance, some areas have a fast growth. PHEVs have a sales number of 5,044 units, increasing 50% with February and 34% with the same period of last year. BEVs have a sales number of 10,579 units, increasing 67% with February and 64% with the same period of last year. The total sales number from January to March reaches 39,463 units.
Some experts propose that the government should transfer subsidies from buses to passenger vehicles. “In the past, 80% of subsidies are given to buses and only 20% are left to passenger vehicles.”
“Different from USA, China emphasizes public effects and underestimates popularization effects. The excessive subsidies to buses lead many cheating behaviors, which brings great harm to the industry’s development.”
