Gasgoo Munich- On Oct. 29, the Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau announced it is extending the deadline for the city's 2026 car trade-in subsidy applications. The cutoff has been moved from Nov. 30, 2026, to Jan. 10, 2027. However, the agency warned that applications will close immediately if the annual subsidy fund is exhausted ahead of schedule.
The notice also clarified that applicants who have already submitted requests but need to modify or supplement their information must complete corrections by Jan. 20, 2027. Those who fail to apply on time or finish required corrections will not receive the subsidy.

The eligibility window for the four required supporting documents remains unchanged. Applicants for the scrappage subsidy must ensure required documents are dated between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2026. These include the "Scrap Motor Vehicle Recycling Certificate," "Motor Vehicle Deregistration Certificate," "Unified Motor Vehicle Sales Invoice," and "Motor Vehicle Registration Certificate."
Subsidy levels will follow this year's framework. Consumers who scrap an old vehicle and purchase a new energy passenger car are eligible for a 20,000 yuan subsidy. Those buying a fossil-fuel passenger car with a 2.0-liter engine or smaller receive 15,000 yuan. For trade-ins, subsidies are tiered based on the new vehicle's price. New energy vehicles receive a higher amount than internal combustion engine cars in the same bracket.
The Commerce Bureau cited "automobile consumption demand and the implementation of the trade-in subsidy policy" as the basis for the adjustment. The notice did not disclose how much of the subsidy fund has been used so far. Since the policy's launch, more than 150,000 aging vehicles have been replaced in Beijing, driving over 20 billion yuan in new car sales.
