Its next-generation AI smart cockpit has secured a project award from a leading domestic automaker, with mass production slated for the third quarter of 2027. Meanwhile, Bosch is deepening joint development efforts with global luxury brands and mainstream Chinese automakers.

This next-generation AI cockpit aims to address widespread industry issues, including fragmented scenarios, unstable responses, and safety risks posed by "AI hallucinations." Its core technical approach relies on an edge-cloud collaborative Harness safety framework to build a dedicated AI companion covering the entire travel cycle—both inside and outside the vehicle.
Functionally, Bosch claims its AI cockpit will bridge the gap between in-vehicle and off-vehicle scenarios. Inside the car, the system leverages enhanced situational awareness to actively adapt to driver and passenger needs—whether it's easing driver fatigue, monitoring sleeping children, or planning charging stops in advance. Once out of the vehicle, AI services remain online with multi-device connectivity, syncing schedules and traffic conditions to allow remote pre-conditioning, ensuring users can "leave without waiting."
On safety, Bosch has built a vehicle-level Harness safety framework to serve as an AI control system. This framework performs full-chain verification of vehicle control commands generated by large models, intercepting high-risk or erroneous instructions at the architectural level to prevent AI runaway. Additionally, Bosch employs an edge-cloud division of labor: edge-side AI handles core functions like facial recognition locally to protect privacy and ensure operation in weak network environments, while cloud AI manages complex, cross-device, long-term tasks to support continuous system iteration and hyper-personalized services.
Bosch states that the full capability of its next-gen AI cockpit lies in combining full-cycle personalization with a robust safety foundation. Moving forward, Bosch will leverage this mass-production project to collaborate with automakers, driving in-vehicle AI toward a future that is safe, comprehensive, continuous, and personalized.
