Shanghai, May 27 (Gasgoo.com) Bugatti, the exclusive French sports car maker, plans to sell three to five cars in China every year. With a staggering 38 million yuan ($5.57 mln) price tag, the vehicle will appeal to super-rich Chinese buyers, China Daily reported today.
China is a "big potential market" for Bugatti, Alasdair Stewart, Bugatti's director of marketing sales and after-sales, said yesterday. "We will bring two cars to Beijing to hold test drives later this year."
Bugatti will hold two or three test drives of its Veyron 16.4 supercar in Beijing this year to attract Chinese buyers. The Veyron made its debut at the 2010 Beijing auto show in late April and was sold on the opening day of the event for 38 million yuan.

Stewart said two types of people will buy Bugattis: one is a collector who seeks many cars including the top two-door sports cars, and the other is the very rich, such as most of the Chinese super-rich.
Bugatti's first showroom in China, opened in Beijing in September, receives potential buyers by appointment only. Serious customers will be invited to visit the factory in France and drive the car.
The black and yellow Veyron sold at the auto show, Stewart said, "is the first car we sold in China this year and we need to sell two or three more."
