Xiaomi EV responded in kind: "Thank you @BYD. May the road ahead be wide. Chinese autos, moving forward with confidence. Together, we step into the vast new era of smart vehicles!"

On March 16, Lei Jun announced via social media that the new SU7 will officially launch on the evening of March 19. Xiaomi EV has already opened pre-orders for the model, which comes in three versions: the Standard Edition at 229,900 yuan, the Pro Edition at 259,900 yuan, and the Max Edition at 309,900 yuan.

According to disclosed specifications, the new model features upgrades across exterior styling, interior design, intelligent driving, and safety. On the outside, the front grille has been optimized, and a Capri Blue option joins the existing Gulf Blue palette. The wheels are now a new 20-inch design, with tire specs adjusted to 245mm front and 265mm rear—the wider rear tread aimed at boosting grip. For braking, all trims come standard with four-piston fixed calipers up front, while the Max version gets Brembo calipers, drilled discs, and low-metallic brake pads.

Inside, the new SU7 adds a Dark Night Black option alongside the existing Obsidian Black. The steering wheel has been reshaped, and stitching details on the console, door panels, and seats have been refined. Soft-touch materials cover more surface area, complemented by a wraparound, three-layer ambient lighting system. Physical buttons in the center tunnel have also been updated.

Configuration-wise, the new SU7 sees systematic improvements. Safety gear now includes a standard 2,200MPa steel built-in roll cage and side impact beams on all four doors. It also features an upgraded suite of nine airbags, adding rear side airbags to the mix. The chassis features 1,500MPa protection beams and a high-strength coating, which the company says offers ten times the scratch and tear resistance of the base design. Addressing concerns over door handles, all trims now feature a triple-redundancy system that supports mechanical opening from both inside and outside.

Power and range get a boost as well. The new SU7 is powered by a V6s Plus motor, delivering 320 horsepower in the Standard version and 690 horsepower in the Max. All trims utilize a silicon carbide high-voltage platform: 752V for the Standard and Pro versions, and 897V for the Max. Range figures stand at 720 kilometers for the Standard version and 902 kilometers for the Pro version under CLTC conditions. On the intelligent driving front, LiDAR and 4D millimeter-wave radar are now standard across the lineup.
