On December 15, BYD officially put its fire new B-segment SUV, the Song L, onto the market. The Song L comes with five trim levels, with an official price range of 189,800 yuan to 249,800 yuan.
As the latest addition to BYD's Dynasty range, the Song L rides on the e-Platform 3.0. With its cross-genre styling, low-slung posture, and distinctive features like a sloping C-pillar, the Song L presents a dynamic and poised stance, setting it apart in its segment.
The rear design of the Song L adds a multi-layered sense with its through-type taillight cluster, which incorporates Chinese knot elements.
Inside, the Song L is equipped with a 10.25-inch LCD instrument panel and a 15.6-inch rotatable touchscreen. It features BYD's new-generation DiLink infotainment system.
The interior design incorporates sporty seats adorned with yellow accents and the Chinese character "Song" lettering on the headrests.
Regarding power, the Song L offers a choice between rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive systems. The AWD version employs a front asynchronous motor and a rear permanent magnet synchronous motor which adopts SiC technology, an official 0-100km/h acceleration time of 4.3 seconds.
For the chassis, the Song L adopts a double-wishbone independent suspension and a five-link independent suspension, combined with technologies like the CTB, the DiSus C system, the iTAC (intelligence torque adaption control) system, and the IPB (integrated power brake) system.
