On Jan. 8, Gasgoo found on BYD's official website that the BYD Song PLUS has been removed from the Ocean Network buying catalog. For now, the Ocean channel keeps only four series on sale: SEAL, SEALION, DOLPHIN and SEAGULL. The Dynasty series' Song family, for its part, no longer lists the Song PLUS either.
The tip came from the "BYD Factory" owners' club, which said the Song PLUS had been deleted from BYD Auto's website and official app purchase listings.

Looking back, the Song PLUS was BYD's trailblazer in new-energy SUVs. Launched in 2020 as a compact SUV, it quickly broke Haval H6's long grip on the market and became the first Chinese-brand new-energy SUV to hit 1 million sales in record time. In 2021, it was among the first models to carry BYD's DM hybrid technology.
By December 2025, global cumulative sales had topped 1.5 million units. The model once set a single-month record of more than 64,000 units, and for years anchored the core share of the 150,000–200,000 yuan SUV segment — building a large user base and strong word-of-mouth for BYD.
When the Ocean Network launched in 2021, the Song PLUS was assigned to that channel to fill a lineup gap, quickly becoming its foundational model. At its peak, the Song PLUS accounted for half of the Ocean Network's total sales.
Reports had previously suggested the Song PLUS was headed for discontinuation. Some say the SEALION 06 is its successor, and that this move is a normal product switch. November 2025 sales show the SEALION 06 ranked second among BYD models with 25,000 units for the month, while the Song PLUS placed 11th at just 8,000.
As for a possible return to the Dynasty channel, Lu Tian, general manager of BYD's Dynasty Network, said the company is considering it and does not rule out bringing the model back to the Dynasty series.
