Gasgoo Munich- On April 15, BYD introduced the first model under its Linghui Auto sub-brand, the Linghui e7, marking the brand's entry into the mid-size all-electric sedan segment with a focus on BYD's FLASH charging capability and spacious design. The new model is priced between 95,800 yuan and 115,800 yuan and is available in five variants.

Positioned for both private and commercial use, the Linghui e7 is equipped with BYD's second-generation Blade Battery and an upgraded Flash charging system. The company claims the vehicle can deliver meaningful charge in five minutes and reach near full capacity in nine minutes, with only a three-minute increase required under extreme cold conditions of -30°C.
The launch targets longstanding challenges in the segment, including limited durability, slow charging efficiency, and compromised cabin space.
According to BYD, the FLASH charging version of the Linghui e7 can recharge its battery from 10% to 70% in just five minutes, and up to 97% in nine minutes. The second-generation Blade Battery has undergone 500 ultra-fast charging cycles followed by nail penetration testing, as well as thermal propagation tests involving short circuits across four cells.
An intelligent thermal management system operating across a full temperature range is designed to balance rapid charging capability with long-term battery durability.
To support its FLASH charging ecosystem, BYD said it had built 5,193 FLASH charging stations as of April 9, with plans to expand that number to 20,000 by the end of 2026. The company also unveiled a new initiative allowing as few as four vehicle owners to jointly apply for the construction of a charging station, with installation promised within one week.
The Linghui e7 features a front-end design described by the company as “smile aesthetics,” paired with a body measuring 4,780 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,530 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. The flat rear floor enhances passenger comfort, reinforcing its dual-use positioning.
Inside, the cabin adopts a minimalist “Jazz Black” theme and offers three exterior color options: Fog Gray, Cloud White, and Cool Rice. For private users, the vehicle includes an intelligent voice system capable of four-zone recognition and continuous dialogue.
For ride-hailing applications, durability has been a key focus. The vehicle is engineered to meet a lifespan of six years or 600,000 kilometers and has undergone 9,600 cycles of reinforced rough-road testing, with the aim of reducing long-term maintenance costs.
